About Us

The Staff

Linda L. Smith, LCPC - Therapist and Program Director

Linda is a licensed therapist, holding an M.A. and a certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling from Loyola College. After many years in "traditional," private practice, Linda saw a need for a different type of counseling experience, and  founded Leg-Up Counseling in 2005. Linda has over 25 years of counseling experience and life long horse experience; the healing, honest nature of horses made EAP a natural choice of study and practice. In addition to EAP, Linda also specializes in stress and anxiety management; vocational counseling and short-term resolution focused therapy.

Samantha Cohen - Equine Specialist

Samantha holds a BA in Psychology from Skidmore University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Psychology from Towson University. Another lifelong horse person, Samantha has been riding horses for over twenty years and joined the Leg-Up Counseling team in September of 2013.
